I've never been particularly interested in networking. I'm interested in relationships.

Most of the things I've built began the same way — around people.

A cigar shared at an event. A conversation that ran longer than expected. A room designed to make people want to stay. An introduction that became a friendship, a partnership, or the beginning of something entirely new.

Over time, that instinct became the common thread through my work: creating environments where hospitality makes connection easier.

Today, that takes several forms — from Cigar Butler Company and The Cigar Box to the long-form conversations of Sunday Afternoon Smokes. They are different endeavors, but they come from the same belief:

Cigar Butler Company

Cigar Butler Company brings refined, butler-led cigar hospitality to exceptional gatherings across the country.

Built around an old-world idea of service, CBC is less about cigars as a product than what they make possible — a reason to slow down, gather together, and stay in the conversation a little longer.

From private celebrations and executive gatherings to destination events and major hospitality environments, the cigar is the medium. Hospitality is the product.

The world has changed. Exceptional hospitality hasn't.

Sunday Afternoon Smokes

Some conversations need more room.

Sunday Afternoon Smokes is my long-form conversation series built around a simple idea: sit down with interesting people, light a cigar, pour something good, and give the conversation enough time to go wherever it needs to go.

There are no scripts and no rush toward the next question. The guests come from different professions, backgrounds, and walks of life. What matters is that they have something worth talking about.

The show is recorded in a purpose-built lounge in my home in Upstate South Carolina — an environment created specifically for hospitality, conversation, and the kind of shared moments that are difficult to manufacture.

The conversation is the occasion.

The Cigar Box

This is where the hospitality business began.

The Cigar Box started with a simple idea: bring a better cigar experience to the places where people were already gathering.

Based in Upstate South Carolina, The Cigar Box provides mobile cigar hospitality for weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, golf tournaments, and other occasions where a cigar can become part of the experience rather than simply something handed to a guest.

Over the years, it taught me something that now influences nearly everything I do: people may remember the cigar, but what stays with them is how they were made to feel.

That lesson became the foundation for a much larger view of hospitality — and eventually helped give rise to Cigar Butler Company.

PHILOSOPHY

The best things rarely happen when people are in a hurry.

A good cigar takes time. So does a worthwhile conversation. So does earning someone's trust.

I've come to believe that hospitality isn't really about what you serve or how impressive the room looks. It's about creating enough comfort for people to stay awhile.

That's where conversations deepen. That's where relationships begin. And every now and then, that's where an idea takes shape that changes what comes next.

AWAY FROM THE WORK

A life is more than what fits on a business card.

Away from the work, I'm a husband, a father, a man of faith, and someone who still believes there is tremendous value in sitting across from another person without needing to be anywhere else.

I enjoy a good cigar, a good pour, cooking for people I care about, and conversations that wander well beyond where they started. I'm endlessly curious about how things work, why people build what they build, and what makes certain places or moments stay with us.

Most of all, I value time with the people I love. Business matters. Ambition matters. But neither is much use if you forget what all the work was supposed to make possible in the first place.
